About the Author
Burton Isaac began his musical studies at the age of 10. From grade school through junior college he was privileged to study with an excellent teacher who had himself studied with the famed Ysaye of Brussels. Burton earned his bachelor’s degree in music at Northwestern University and holds a master’s degree in music education from the same institution. From 1937 until his retirement in 1976, he was Director of Music in the Kirkwood Missouri Public School System. Throughout his career, Mr. Isaac played in various semi-professional orchestras, string ensembles, and as a soloist.
Mr. Isaac has published several books with Mel Bay Publications. During his career he directed some outstanding high school orchestras and bands and was frequently an adjudicator at instrumental contests and festivals throughout the Midwest.
