From Booklist
Morison debuts with an engaging, all-avian tale driven by themes of loneliness and friendship. Being a late bloomer, little Louie has to board a commercial jet for the flight south, while the rest of his family migrates in the usual way. Unhappily camped out on a resort hotel’s roof with his suitcase and binoculars, Louie waits for the clan to arrive—until a breeze snatches his return ticket, and in chasing it he not only takes wing at last but also meets a friendly local penguin named Gwynn. The text is substantial but simple enough for newly fledged readers, and the illustrations’ thinly applied watercolors and fluidly curving lines lend an airy brightness perfectly in keeping with the story’s tone.
