The Western

From the moment the cinema first began to tell stories, the exploits of the Old West have had a favoured place with film-makers and audiences alike. This unique reference book covers seventy years of Western films, from “The Great Train Robbery” (1903) to recent releases, through listings of the stars, directors, supporting players, writers, producers, composers, cameramen, stuntmen and others who have helped make the Western such a prolific, enjoyable and artistically stimulating form of cinema. A revised edition is overdue, and would be welcome.” This is that revised edition, now far more comprehensive and with a new and improved range of illustrations, stoutly bound to withstand heavy usage.
