Editorial Reviews
From School Library Journal
Grade 1-6-There are many things about this book that make it useful and appealing. First, more than half of the activities are noncompetitive. All 77 ideas include the number of people needed, items required (including thinking caps), and simple instructions. The kid-type jokes and riddles are another bonus (“Why didn’t the boy get hurt when the bottle of root beer fell on his head? It was a soft drink”). If all that isn’t enough, additional resources, such as journal pages (including suggestions that readers fill them in), lists of state capitals, license-plate logs, scavenger-hunt lists, and bingo cards are included. All of the activities are designed to be used in confined spaces. Travel games, creativity games, word and language skills, and thinking games are all represented. Purple-and-blue cartoons appear on every page.
