At Vine & Dandy, every lampworked glass bead and small sculpture is designed and created exclusively by owner and artist Tracy Quigley. Each piece is carefully handcrafted using time-honored techniques and a deep passion for artistry, ensuring that no two creations are exactly alike.
What is Lampworking?
Lampworking is a centuries-old glassworking technique where rods of glass are melted in a flame and shaped using gravity and specialized tools. This process allows for intricate detail, vibrant colors, and unique textures that make every piece truly one-of-a-kind.
Why Choose Lampworked Glass?
- One-of-a-Kind Artistry: Each bead or sculpture is individually handmade, not mass-produced.
- Durability: All pieces are fully kiln annealed for lasting strength. Without this critical step, the glass remains unstable and can spontaneously shatter anywhere from days to years after creation.
- Rich Color & Detail: Glass can be layered, swirled, and decorated to create stunning visual effects.
- Creative Versatility: Lampworked beads can be worn as jewelry, displayed as art, or incorporated into custom designs.
Care Instructions
- Handle with care to avoid drops or hard impacts.
- Clean with a soft cloth; if necessary, use mild soap and lukewarm water.
- Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures.
