Casey is an ordinary girl of the early 1960s in an ordinary family. Her family sticks together including her newspaper editor father who is running for the town’s mayor against an unscrupulous wealthier man, her stay-at-home mother, older brother Johnny who married young and ruined his college career, 16 year-old shy but beautiful sister Jean, and little brother Matt. Casey is sensible with a sensible boyfriend. The book is so nostalgic of an earlier period of time that it’s very pleasant to read.
